Richard Margetts

Born in Redruth, raised in Camborne, Porthleven & latterly Four Lanes, and educated in Helston, I have a working life embedded firmly in the lettings industry locally.

Letting and Property Management Experience

You could say I’m an ‘industry man’ with more than 15 years of experience working in the lettings, covering all aspects of residential lettings from viewings, through to inspections, inventory creation and general problem solving.

I have been integral to the growth of one of the largest and most successful lettings agents in the region working alongside Paul and Garrin from the early days of its creation. In the last year of this role I had a management role over 10 staff guiding the management of a portfolio of more than 600 properties and was accountable to more than 400 landlords.

I understand the motivations and concerns of a landlords because I am one! I know what it is like to be up against it to pay the mortgage when the property is empty and to ensure how to maintain a property on a budget.

I am champion of the use of technology to improve the speed and efficiency and quality of service particularly in relation to early payment of landlords and management  of property accounts.

What is really important to me?

I really do try and treat people in the way that I would like to be treated myself. Regardless of whether I am working at the glamour end of the market with the £1 million property or the basement flat on the high street landlords and tenant deserve to be given the best possible service.

There is no better feeling in this industry than giving people your time and doing your best. For me it comes through matching a tenant with their dream home, solving a maintenance problem or spending five minutes simply listening to someone.

I am a family man and an avid sportsman but give me a good film, a homemade curry and a pint of cider and I’ve found my personal heaven.
